Will the school continue opening new grade levels?
ONE International School is licensed up to Grade 12, and we will continue opening one new grade levels each academic year until we reach Grade 12.
Does the school place strong emphasis on the Arabic language?
Absolutely. Arabic is our students’ native language, and we place great importance on it. Students follow the Kuwait Ministry of Education curriculum for Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, and Holy Qur’an. We are also committed to preserving Kuwaiti values, identity, and culture.
What are the school hours?
The school day runs from 7:00 AM to 2:45 PM
What nationalities are your teachers?
Approximately 40% of our teachers are Kuwaiti, with many holding qualifications from the United Kingdom and the United States. Our teaching staff represents over 20 different nationalities, and all are experienced and highly qualified.
At what stage are boys and girls separated?
Boys and girls are separated beginning in Middle School.
How does the school handle conflicts between students?
Each situation is handled individually. Our school counsellor first meets with each student separately to understand the situation, then parents are contacted to discuss the matter. The administration works closely with both students and parents to reach the most appropriate resolution.
Is swimming optional or part of the curriculum?
Swimming is part of the school curriculum.
Is it true that students do not receive homework?
Yes. We follow a no-homework policy, with the exception of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies. We encourage family discussions, critical thinking, and experiential learning instead of traditional homework. Students also do not take textbooks home.
Does the school provide support for students with special educational needs?
We provide additional academic support, including English Language Learning (ELL). However, we are not licensed to provide specialised SEN services and therefore are unable to admit students requiring that level of support.
